I just wanted to update everyone on Ty. We went to Texas Children’s on August 13 for a MRI. He was a little nervous because the doctor had talked about knocking him out so he would not move during the scan. He has always taken something orally before his MRI to knock him out but at TC they do it thru IV. He didn’t want the needle and all that. He couldn’t eat that morning and the MRI was at noon by the time we did paper work and all that it was 1:00 and he convinced the nurse he would stay still and watch his movie because he was starving and if he was put under he would have to wait 30 minutes for it to take affect then do the MRI then wait 30 to come to and now it was after 1:00 so he laid there and watched a movie thru really neat goggles and had headphones that had a microphone and everything. He looked like he was going to fly a plane or something with all the gear on. He was able to lie still but still had to have an IV because they did the MRI with contrast. We finally got to leave close to 2:30 or 3. I had a voice mail from the nurse on Friday. She said that everything looked stable and referred us to the Ophthalmologist at TC. We have to make sure that the swell from the excessive fluid in his brain is not putting pressure on his optical nerve. We have an appointment September 16 with ophthalmologist. He has no symptoms of anything so we are sure everything will be fine. We will continue to go back once a year for an MRI and meet with Dr. Douser (Neurosurgery).
He also starts the 4th grade next Monday, August 25. And he will be playing fall ball. When I get a schedule I will let everyone know the game times. The only down fall to fall ball is that all the games will be during the week however is a good thing to because it will not interfere with opening season weekend! That would be a difficult decision for Ty to make Baseball or Hunting.
P.S. for those of you who didnt know Ty was born with Hydrocephalus but Thank GOD it has no side affects on him. And we continue to pray that it never will.
